FREE SHIPPING & EXCHANGES WITHIN EU AND US
Goal 1: No poverty
Use only factories with strong worker unions, certifications, audits and regulations. 98% of our production is within the EU and in accordance with european union regulations. Pls see enclosed facotry documents for tranceparancy.

Goal 2: Zero hunger
Please see our collaboration for change with Sandlund/Hossain from 2019 – we made bags and keychains perticulary designed to reduce the waste in S/H’s leather production. The leathers used came from cow founder iniative. https://www.sandlundhossain.com/sv/the-cow-funder-initiative/
Shortly: A bangladeshi family received a calf, nutured it to full growth, when the cow was put down sandlund hossain toked care of the skin and the family received the meat. This meat is approximate 1,5years of meet supply for a bangladeshi family and it is up to them if they wish to keep for food or sell it for income.

Goal 5: Gender equality
PowerWomenWednesday is a Residus initiative to empower, engage and inspire women all over the world. Through bi-monthly interviews, powerful women with strong voices and diverse backgrounds share candid views about their careers, ambitions, and challenges. Through PWW, we stride to lift the female perspective, make room for female voices and inspire other women ass well as the generations to come.

Goal 6: Clean water and sanitation
All of our our dying mills, finishing houses and weaving/knitting mills have high tech water recycling and cleaning systems. This is also something that is evaluated to receive a GOTs certifications which all of our mills have and most of them also the global recycling standard certificate – see X_SUPPLIER CERTIFICATES folder enclosed . The estimate to use approximately 10% of water compared to a “regular textile industry”. Both GOTS and Oeko Tex certification regulate sanitation of water and the handling of chemicals.

When we new produce fabrics we use a large amount of Eco vero and Tencel fibers from Lenzing – both with closed
  • LENZING™ ECOVERO™ Viscose fibers are derived from sustainable wood and pulp, coming from certified and controlled sources.
  • LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibers have been certified with the EU Ecolabel as meeting high environmental standards throughout their life cycle: from raw material extraction to production, distribution and disposal.
  • LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibers can be robustly identified in the final product, assuring you that your purchase contains genuine ECOVERO™ Viscose fibers.
Lenzing’s closed loop production process, which transforms wood pulp into TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers with high resource efficiency and low ecological impact, received the European Award for the Environment from the European Commission in the category “The Technology Award for Sustainable Development” (2002).

When using cotton we alwas stride to use Organic cotton or BCI cotton (better cotton initiative)

When working with viscose that is not ECO VERO we always request FSC certified viscose fibers.

Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
Green energy is used at the Residus office and only Led light bulbs. For our factoryes that are also GOTS certified clean energy and led lights this is a part of the GOTS audit.

Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
95% of our production is made in Europe. We always trace the full supplier chain insuring that not only all of our garment manufacturers but also fabric mills, dying houses, finishing houses keep fair wages, good working conditions and take full social responsibility. Please see enclosed folder “X_SUPPLIER CERTIFICATES” for our partners and their certifications. Our manufacturers are GOTS certified. Fabric houses and dying mills are all GOTS certified, Global recycling standard certified and OEKO tex certified. These certifications assure high standards also when it comes to fair wages, working hours, over time regulations, social responsibility and working conditions (no exposure to chemicals etc). Portugal also have strong unions in place for the workers in all of our factories. So with 95% of our textile production in Portugal poverty or hunger is never an issue.

Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
A foundation of our company is that We always start our design process out by sourcing left over fabrics. The industri is full of fabrics that are laying around and not being used becouse we always want to start from scratch when starting up a collection. Piles of fabrics from sales collection canceled collections and access from high minimum quantities build up every ear and the piles keep building. We try to find and use these fabrics as a starting point in our collections!
By doing this we cut out the most straining process of the fashion industry – the production of fibers, yarns, fabrics, dying and finishing. By using what is already been made but never got used. This is the very foundation of our brand- Residus from the word residue= leftover.

In addition to this we always request sustainable sourcing when it comes to new production and request certificates for all parts of the process from fiber to knitting, this is a way to constantly push the industry towards new innovation and sustainable development.

We are for example one of very few brands working with the lenzing innovation Eco vero, a fiber that saves 50% caron emission and 50% water usage compared to a generic viscose fiber.

Residus Collaboration for Change:

The Residus initiative collaborations for Change is about People, industries and businesses coming together to close the loop.

In face of climate change it is time for the traditionally competitive fashion industry to work together to change the negative impact the industry has on the environment.

This is a residus inniative that we launched in 2019 with the sandlund hossain bag collaboration (started from the idea of reducing Sandlund hosseins leather waste in the Residus spirit of making great product and reducing industry footprint). For the years to come   and we have several more brand colabs line up for this inniative but we can not tell you about any of them yet, due to no disclosure agreements before we go live.

Add to this our QR code project piloting this spring, showimng tracebility and carbon emission, water usage and wate savings- please read more abotu this in point

Goal 10: Reduced Inequality
For our first Collaboration for change with S/H we also used plant colored hand woven textile from the women´s cooperative founded by The swallows – https://svalorna.org/ to support a local womens business collective in bangladesh.

Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
Public transportation with Biogas buses and trains to office and meetings is the only way we transport ourselves within our city of Stockholm. We encourage and book only bike taxis for our buyers and external partners when the visit our office. See attached movie with the buyers from BOOZT leaving our office in a Bzzt podtaxi!

Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
Concerning production please see all of the above information and enclosed certificates  for our factories.
In addition to this We always urge our consumers through social media and Residus e-mails to “shop responsibly”

Concerning our Residus office please see in enclosed folder our in-house recycling system with 7 bins from food waist to aluminium to insure that all waist at our office in thoroughly sorted and recycled.

pls see also our algoritm project in next climate goal that I think is also accurate for this one: *For most of 2019 We have  been working on an algoritm togheter with partner company Trustrace…

Goal 13: Climate Action
We Use our platform to educate and drive the future of sustainability. We regularly give inspirational and educational speeches and participate in panel discussions on this subject, we also regularly have visit from organisations all of the world who come to our office to hear about how we work.
Please see an example in the enclosed film of Elin Mohlander participating in panel discussion at Åhlens City in Stockholm.

*For most of 2019 We have  been working on an algoritm togheter with partner company Trustrace with the goal to create a system in wich we can trace, mapp and then calculate for our products. The goal is to get 100% trancparancy int he products and as accurate and clear numbers as possible to share with the consumer.  Teach people what they buy, where it comes from and what the carbon emission, water usage and waste is for the product they buy.
We will launch a pilot on some of our SS2020 product in week 8 of 2020.

Thsi mapping and calculating will also be a big help to us in product creation, what to avoid and what parts to change in a product life cycle to get a better product for the planet. First of all it will be a larning curve for us but I think within the ocmming years we will see many other brands interestied in learning more and evoving there supply chain and product creatin in this. That is our hope and we will be here to share our knowledge!

Goal 14: Life Below Water
Only using recycling plastic in our online packaging, See attached image.
Using biogradeble plastic in our productuion and garment bags, see attached image

We are currently developing garment bags with one of our suppliers that will be completely biogradeble and dissolve when the costumer places it in 30° water. We are aiming to have these ready to roll out for our SS2020 collection

Concerning our Residus office please see in enclosed folder our in-house recycling system with 7 bins to insure that all waist including plastic at our office in thoroughly sorted and recycled.

Goal 15: Life On Land
